Before doing any 'asana' or posture, you should do 'pranayama' or breath regulation. Sit on the floor on a mat or bed, keep you body upright and feel relaxed. Take a deep breath and hold the air as long as possible and exhale slowly. Another technique is to close the left nostril and inhale (need not hold the breath), close the right nostril and exhale. Third one is to inhale through the left nostril the same way and exhale through the right one. Any one of this should be performed 7 or 10 times.Care Breast[Www.9ma.com]

Utthitta Padmasana: After assuming the lotus posture, keep your palms on the sides on the floor and press to rise your body slowly. After a few seconds, assume the original position slowly. This lift and down movement can be performed three times only. Though you will find it difficult in the beginning, it will become easy by practice.

There is another posture called 'Kashyapa Asana' after the sage 'Kashyapa' which is slightly difficult. This can be attempted after practising 'utthita padmasana' for a few weeks.

Readers are warned that before taking up any posture, they should consult a doctor. It is better to do these asanas with the personal guidance of a yoga teacher to start with. Watch this video
